Posted by Abad on Jun 14, '10 10:38 PM for everyone Posted by Abad on Aug 3, '09 8:02 AM for everyone One night I heard moans coming from the adjacent room. There was I, holding a boring book, reading silently in my excessively cluttered room, trying to feed my stubborn little brain with details from an over assuming, quite erotic novel and inside the room three steps away from me was a couple carelessly uttering sounds of excitement, pleasure, satisfaction probably even a tinge of pain. It broke the monotony of my night and made me laugh. This universe knows how to play a practical joke. It was no surprise for me though. That's what I get from living in a motel. Yes, I live in a motel. It's so My name is Earl, only I'm more like Randy and the cleaning lady is not even as hot as Catalina's toenails.
When I first inquired about the place, the owner told me they accept transients on the second and third floor. Little miss owner lied in my face. The rooms in the right were all really tiny apartments and the rooms in the left side of the same floor were meant for doing it. Soon after I moved in, seeing couples coming in became a normal sight. I won't be telling the name of the place though, I'm hoping to see someone I know walking through the door. I'm not looking forward to hearing them do it though. I'm sure I can't hold my laughter. I don't wanna spoil the fun!
I've been staying in my motel room for almost a month now. Utilities is not part of the rent so I'll be getting a separate bill for electricity every month. Last Friday I received my first electric bill worth 54 pesos. 54 pesos! God bless me for being too poor for not having electronics. That's not totally true though, I have a few electronics in my room. I have two TVs, both not working, I have a totally f*cked up PDA, an equally screwed up portable DVD player, one laptop, (the laptop charger overheated so just like the laptop it had been useless for months) I have one functioning cellphone (yey!!) and one sad overused electric fan I'd stolen from our giveaways two years ago. 2/3 of the bulbs in my tiny place isn't working too. So God bless me for being too poor to get my stuffs fixed.
I'm not sure how long I'll stay in my motel room. The noise is not really bothering me 'cause the nearest room to mine is not rented very often. I have no major complaints yet. For a guy who annoyingly complains a lot that's a good thing!
Posted by Abad on Jul 4, '09 10:25 AM for everyone I just came home from School of Accontancy and Business' Socialization. I first thought of using the phrase I'm blogging fresh from SAB socialization party but after spending 6 hours inside a poorly ventilated, non-air-conditioned gymnasium packed with roughly around 800 students clad in what could pass as business attire, there is NO way anyone could come out of that gymnasium fresh. I'm just lucky I got out alive! I mean fortunate. I've heard too much of the word lucky today 'cause apparently the Jason Mraz song with the same title is the only song SAB singers know. That and the song from that hot blonde young singer with the lyrics it's a love stew-ree baby just say ee-yes.
Last year's event was way more fun and I'm saying this not because the organizers from last year did a better job, last year's theme, International Culture, was just more interesting. It's easier for us to make fun of people wearing seaweeds and huge costumes. I can only remember two students who were really asking for attention tonight. First is the gay guy who obviously had issues with maroon satin curtains growing up which lead him to make a shirt with huge ruffles around his neck out of a poor curtain. I'm still unsuccesful of thinking of a business that would require wearing such an eyesore. The other guy was wearing a tuxedo. I don't wanna make fun of him 'cause he's my Theology classmate, he seems nice and I don't want him to be asking me this question one day "Kuya, anong problema mo kung naka-tuxedo ako? Socialization is a really loose term since there were no chances given to the students to socialize. The night was filled with singing, dancing and at one point there was crying but there aren't enough socializing. I have no complaints with the ex SAB governor crying in her speech 'cause she really was a cool leader. What threw me off with the whole passing of the key of responsibility is this huge yellow gliterry thing shaped like a house key they used as a prop. Call me slow but I didn't get it at first. The only time I "socialized" with students outside Entrep was when I was walking to get out of the gym (which was a necessary thing to do every 30 minutes to ensure my survival) and I spotted a group of students taking their group picture to post to the social networking site of their choice and I casually joined in, smiled for the camera and made sure to look like we're all friends. They're nice kids for acting nonchalant and cool about some creep who seems really desperate for a photograph. Posted by Abad on Jun 9, '09 10:42 AM for everyone Politicians I might consider voting for President:
Chiz Escudero
I hate him. However, I might vote for him because of two reasons. First is that we have more things in common than one may think; we talk a lot, our faces are testaments that at some points in our lives we battled acne, and we both have manboobs! It would be easy for him to hide his manboobs but he never fails to wear shirts one size smaller than what he is supposed to be wearing. I believe that Mr. Escudero is an advocate of manboobs and for that reason alone he should lead this country.
Another reason why I might vote for him is that I think he talks excessively and it will be a treat for me to see him shut up once he's voted as president and gets blamed for everything. It will be nice to see him being perceived as the bad guy for a change.
Ping Lacson
I heard the news. I know he said he's not going to run but then Gloria made the same announcement years before the last presidential elections.
It's interesting how Mr. Lacson allegedly gets people killed and yet he hits me as someone quite effeminate. I think he'd be a cool president.
Loren Legarda
She's pretty. I'll vote for her.
That gwapo cabinet guy with the hot wife and a tv ad
I'll know his name soon.
Manny Villar
I like Manny Villar. Maybe it's his orange shirt that made me like him. How can one possibly not like orange? It is very reminisent of citrus things and carrots. Or maybe it's his seemingly botoxed face. I don't know. One thing I'm sure of is it's not his "Sipag at Tiyaga" campaign that amused me 'cause if anything it makes me sick.
Bayani Fernando
I love how he's so desperate and pathetic. I also like what he and his wife did to Marikina. I'm not sure if he could do the same to the entire Philippines though.
I'd vote for him if he can promise I won't be seeing his face in every single street corner of every single island of the Philippines.
Politicians who will never receive my vote:
Joseph Estrada
Can he even run again? Some five years ago, when I was a freshman college student for the first time, I remember my Constitution professor telling us that Mr. Estrada can no longer run for president. I don't remember my professor's name now but I trust his judgment better than Erap's.
And, oh. He's convicted for plunder. Why is it so easy for us to forget that?
Noli De Castro
Meh.
Brother Eddie Villanueva
No. He is already in the best possible position for him to serve.
Father Ed Panlillo
God no.
Jejomar Binay
How could you possibly suck as a Mayor of Makati with all the big bucks coming in from all the huge companies? He can't fool me into believing that the rest of the Philippines would have the same benifits of the people of Makati once he become president.
Mar Roxas
I'm not a fan of pedicabs. I don't like Korina Sanchez. On top of that their wedding announcement on Wowowee made Kris Aquino cry because she felt betrayed. I don't think I can vote for anyone who made the most genuine Filipino celebrity cry. hehe.
I think the "Con-aswang" speech with the bawang props is funny though.
---
After reading what I just wrote, maybe the Philippines would be better off without me casting my vote. I'm not a registered voter anyway. Posted by Abad on Jun 3, '09 8:39 AM for everyone REPOST Mahirap magbalik-tanaw at sabihin kung kailan ang huling beses akong naging masaya. Laging may kulang. Posted by Abad on Mar 11, '09 6:55 PM for everyone I want to thank God for making this birthday truly worth celebrating.
I will surely remember my days as a twenty year old with a big smile in my heart.
I've made friends that I could count on in times of need or just in times of excruciating boredom. I might have not spent time with my old friends as much as I want to but the great thing is, despite that we know we're always gonna be friends.
There were moments that made me realize that I may be a little smarter than what I give myself credit for. I still make stupid decisions all the time but I try to learn from them.
Some time last year, I read a line that asked "Nakalimutan mo na bang umibig?" and I immediately answered, oo yata. The last few months had proven that I didn't, that I couldn't, because amazingly, it was in the very place where I left it. Only this time it's stronger and braver. I have found happiness in giving, and that is the closest definition of love that I have right now.
I spent the whole night last night partying with my friends. Tonight, I'll be going home to have dinner with my family, after that I can say that this really is the best birthday I had in years.
No birthday wishes this year. I am happy. Posted by Abad on Feb 25, '09 1:22 AM for everyone | | WARNING: Some partly naked photos of me might haunt you for life.

Posted by Abad on Nov 25, '08 11:43 AM for everyone After five years in college I finally had a fun and memorable semestral break. SPUM
First, we won third place in the product development competition in St. Paul Manila. You know those losers who bitch that they could have won if they had more time? Don't you hate those losers? I do too, but I'm one of them this time. We could have kicked all their asses if the school gave us enough time to prepare. Our product fared very low on durability which makes up for 30% of the criteria for judging. If we had enough time we could have gotten the product framed to boost its durability. We didn't get any criticism for the rest of the criteria, marketability and originality.
I'm still very proud of Monica, Kate and myself for making the most out of the four days given to us. I wanna thank Bo for accommodating us into their lovely house, feeding us and driving us around. Thanks to AA for the ride and to Sir Malbog, I still can't hold my laughter whenever I say your name but we could have never done this without you. Thanks to Gelen, Mon and Jeff for, uh, being there, I guess. :D
My friends only stayed in Manila for two days 'cause they had to be back here in Tuguegarao so the girls could attend their friend's debut. It was fun to finally be with them in Manila. I'll just try not to remember that they had to leave me in the house with the girls and Bo one night so I could finish the stupid powerpoint presentation.
--- Bitin
I had to stay in Manila for two more days to wait for my appointment with my shrink. The doctor said I'm doing well ang asked me where I bought my shirt.
Masaya! I wish I could have stayed longer though. Bitin. I'll be back in two weeks.
--- Chaps' Wedding
I had to come home from Manila last October 26 for Chaps' wedding and his son's christening. Dada was right, it was odd to receive an invitation for a christening and wedding from a guy who up until then only sends out invites for inumans and birthdays.Seeing one of my high school barkada getting married and being happy with his new family made me think. I have always thought of marriage as something so alien and something only meant for grown ups. Something I don't have to deal with soon 'cause I know I'm just a 20 year old kid who still plays with his food among other things.
I guess seeing the same guy who used to make orange phalluses out of clay when we were in kindergarten, the same guy who in high school would frequently wonder out loud on who would be the first to get married and knock someone up, tearing up out of joy on his wedding day made me feel that we are not that young anymore.
We want to believe that we have total control of our lives and we can choose to stride or take baby steps towards maturity but life often throws in surprises that leave us with no other choice but to grow up. I think my friend's new family was the kick in the butt he needed to strive harder to make the most out of himself. I have never seen him happier than that rainy morning of his wedding day. He really is a lucky guy and we are all happy for him and his wife. Bilib ako sa kanila.
Let us not get confused. I'm not saying I need a wife and a kid to keep my life on track. Besides, the only girl I can think of who would wanna marry me after reading this is Chito. I'm not really sure if she's a girl though.
